As we get older or develop an injury, we often lose or shrink our range and repertoire of movement. We can become fearful of more injury, getting stuck or sometimes just forget how we can move.
As a result we start to get stiff, feel aches and pains; we can become fearful of movement and avoid activity and move less. The vicious cycle has begun ..... stiffness, pain, lack of activity, loss of fitness often leads to more pain, aches, stiffness and so on.
So how do we change this? The simple answer is to start moving again. However, if you're not sure why you have pain or have significant health problems that need to be considered; it's worth getting this assessed properly before you start any new activity.
If you have noticed that you aren't as fit as you used to be and not moving like you did 5 years ago, think about when you last got up from the floor easily? ; it's worth considering that you increase your range of activity and start building up your fitness.
